Training for 2-4 days a week. Repeat lessons or work on specific areas for extra training. Each lesson should be 30-60 minutes depending upon energy and schedule.

Suggested Training Split:

Day 1:

  • Warm-ups
  • Frame 1 Defense Technical Work
  • Frame 1 Punch Defense Drill
  • W3 Entrance
  • W3 Entrance Drill

Day 2:

  • Warm-ups
  • W3 Entrance Review
  • Osoto Gari Technique Work
  • W3 to Osoto Gari Drill

Day 3:

  • Climbing Escape Technial Work
  • W3 to Osoto Gari Drill
  • “Bad Guy Sparring”:
    • Partner A: puts on boxing glove and tries to attack with big right hand punch
    • Partner B: uses W3 to Osoto Gari to Defend
    • Start off at 30-40% intensity
    • As your confidence progresses, up the intensity. If your partner has a hard time “keeping up”, slow it down.
