I have black belt level training in traditional Korean martial arts. After becoming frustrated with punching and kicking air molecules and overly-compliant training methods in 2016 I refocused my training on modern and proven combative systems including BJJ and Krav Maga. The TRITAC drills and flows provide a great framework to bring together everything I’ve learned (standing, clinching, ground) while also exposing me to new ideas and principles. I am a full-time health science professor and my personal goal is to open a school that provides instruction in effective combative methods to anyone who wants to learn. I am leading some Krav Maga classes and regular self-defense workshops now and plan to pour myself 100% into combatives instruction once I retire from the professor gig.
